Tannery Arts Complex

What could be better, assigned to shoot a great job in a town with great surf! Santa Cruz, California! The Tannery Art’s Center, certainly one of my most favorite jobs of the year. Architect Mark Cavagnero transformed the the original A K Salz leather tannery complex into an amazing new art center. The complex now houses painters, sculpters, photographers, dancers, etc…. a full on “Art Campus”. I could not have had more fun meeting and shooting the architecture and the the artist who work here. I was even following in the footsteps of the great Ansel Adams, he shot the Tanner workers and the building back in the 1950′s. I was even there for the Grand Opening party, seemed the whole town O Santa Cruz was there to celebrate including a very entertaining dance demonstration in the new dance hall…Great people, great art, stop by next time you are in Santa Cruz!
